The S3 pupils arranged a Sponge the Teacher day to raise funds for the Common Room. We also decided this would be a good way to say goodbye to our S4 pupils so it became a Fun Farewell Afternoon. All secondary pupils were quite delighted to either participate or watch. It cost £1 for three sponges. Primary and Early Years pupils were invited to spectate, and were very happy to accept. There were chants of "get the teachers" from the crowd on a regular basis. At one point there were chants of "get Madame Rendall" as she wasn't soaked enough. After Sponge the Teacher, secondary pupils got to eat pizza and cake. The pizza was paid for by Mr Hawkins, (thank you very much, it was delicious), and very quickly scoffed. The cake was baked by the aunt of one of our S4 Leavers, Janice Rendall. It was a three tier chocolate cake with salted caramel filling. It was delicious. A very small amount was left after Madame Rendall cut (massacred) it to share amongst secondary pupils and staff. It was passed to the P1-2 pupils as a thank you to Mrs Harcus for taking all the photos. All pupils are in agreement that it should become a yearly affair. £75.50 was raised for the Common Room.
